Identity Theft Podcast Led By JGL Attorney
Robb A. Longman of Joseph, Greenwald & Laake, P.A. was recently asked by Lexis' Tax Law Center to design a podcast on the issue of taxpayers and identity theft. Throughout the podcast Mr. Longman discusses how taxpayers are affected when their identity is stolen and used to file fraudulent tax returns or by individuals who are looking to become employed and do not have their own social security number. Mr. Longman also touches on the subjects of what a taxpayer can do to protect themselves and some basic strategies to resolving these issues. Mr. Longman has spoken on this matter several times before at the American Bar Association's Tax Section's National meeting and most recently spoke at the American Bar Association's Low Income Tax Payer Clinic Workshop on this matter. In addition, Mr. Longman has been representing his clients before the Internal Revenue Service working hard to resolve issues of identity theft for taxpayers.
