Chris O’Mahoney is an associate in the firm’s Estates & Trusts practice group who helps individuals and families throughout Prince George’s County with a broad range of matters, including estate planning and administration, wills, trust administration, guardianships, wealth preservation and complex estate and trust litigation. He is also a strategic advisor to small and mid-size businesses on a variety of corporate and commercial real estate transactions.
Chris has maintained close ties to the Prince George’s County community his entire life, having grown up in the area and also attending DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville. He decided to pursue a legal career while in high school after completing a summer internship with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he had the unique opportunity to observe how lawyers conduct themselves and present evidence in the courtroom during numerous hearings and trials.
While in law school, Chris interned with the Honorable Leo E. Green, Jr. of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County and the Honorable Michele D. Hotten, who was later elevated to the Maryland Court of Appeals. Before joining the firm, Chris also clerked for the Honorable Sean D. Wallace of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. His clerkship and internships provided a unique inside look at the daily operations of a courtroom, and witnessing “how the balls and strikes are called” in a judge’s chambers was an invaluable experience that continues to give him a tremendous advantage in every courtroom today.
As a contributing blogger for Generation J.D., Chris enjoys a unique opportunity to share his experiences in the legal profession and engage with other lawyers on a dynamic and widely read social platform. The blog is written by and for young lawyers who are advancing through the early stages of their careers. It provides a valuable forum to discuss cases and trends, exchange advice and discuss the challenges and rewards of working in the legal profession.
