JGL attends retirement celebration for Judge Mary Beth McCormick

Judge Mary Beth McCormick of the Montgomery County Circuit Court retired at the end of May, and on June 6, 2017 the Maryland legal community celebrated her legacy. The event highlighted some of Judge McCormick’s greatest achievements and was well attended by both lawyers and judges, including JGL attorneys Steve Vinick, Anne Grover, Allison McFadden and Rama Taib-Lopez.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Judge McCormick has been committed to empowering women. As president of the Maryland chapter of the National Association of Women Judges, and as a member of organizations like the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, Judge McCormick served as an inspiration for aspiring lawyers.

In 1997, when Judge McCormick was initially selected to be a judge of the District Court of Maryland, her colleague and then administrative judge J. Vaughey Jr. said of her, “She’s a good lawyer with a lot of experience and is very well known around the courthouse. She is everybody’s choice.”

JGL would like to wish Judge McCormick the best for her retirement.
