Joseph M. Creed

Joe Creed is a principal in Joseph, Greenwald & Laake’s Civil Litigation Group. He is a seasoned trial lawyer with a practice focused on representing businesses and individuals throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C. He has deep experience before state and federal courts handling complex motions, jury trials and non-jury trials in a diverse range of disputes, primarily in the following areas:

  • Business litigation
  • Employment litigation
  • Employment contracts and non-compete agreements
  • Limited liability company and partnership disputes
  • Shareholder derivative actions
  • Professional licensing investigations, disciplinary actions,
  • administrative hearings and appeals
  • Church and non-profit board of directors disputes
  • Insurance coverage

Joe has a rare ability to help clients overcome the unfamiliarity and stress of the litigation process by acting as a calming, reassuring presence every step of the way. He provides honest, straightforward evaluations of each client’s possible outcomes at trial and explains every strategy and option necessary to achieve the right result. While Joe is always fully prepared to take a contentious case all the way to a trial verdict or appellate ruling, he also explores every cost-effective alternative to reach a favorable outcome without his client ever setting foot in the courtroom.

Before joining the firm, Joe clerked for the Honorable James A. Kenney, III (Ret.) of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals and observed first-hand how various trial tactics and cases play out on appeal. He continues to leverage this unique insight in his litigation practice today. Joe is also a graduate of the prestigious National Trial Advocacy College, which is one of the most intensive, hands-on trial advocacy training programs for practicing lawyers in the country.
