Jonte Hunter is an associate in Joseph Greenwald & Laake’s Labor & Employment and Civil Litigation practice groups.
Jonte earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL, where he majored in history and graduated as the valedictorian of his class. Thereafter, Jonte earned his J.D., from Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, Jonte completed an externship with both the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Office of Chief Counsel and the Children’s Law Center. Jonte also completed summer internships with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP), and the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists’ Office of General Counsel.
Prior to joining Joseph Greenwald & Laake, Jonte clerked for the Honorable Phyllis D. Thompson of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals for two years. Following his clerkship, Jonte completed a litigation fellowship at Sanford Heisler Sharp, LLP in its Nashville, Tennessee office.
Jonte is admitted to practice in both the District of Columbia and Tennessee, and intends to apply to join the Maryland Bar in January 2022.
