When her clients are involved in thorny family law matters, Eleanor Hunt is ready and willing to go into battle. An experienced courtroom advocate, Eleanor takes pride in those cases where JGL’s team wins trial victories in difficult cases. But she also realizes that the best result for many clients is a fair settlement that resolves the case without the time and risk inherent in going to trial. A caring and cool-headed advisor, Eleanor helps her clients develop plans that achieve the best results for their individual cases, whether that’s going to trial or reaching a negotiated resolution.
As senior counsel in Joseph, Greenwald & Laake’s Family Law practice, Eleanor represents clients in divorces, adoptions, child custody and visitation disputes, domestic violence proceedings, drafting qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs), and child and spousal support matters. Eleanor also counsels individuals and families in estate planning issues, including wills, trusts, power of attorney and advanced medical directives as well as probate administration. Before turning her focus to family law and Estates and Trusts, Eleanor was a transactional real estate attorney who worked on residential real estate settlements, advised homeowners’ associations and condo associations, and drafted residential real estate contracts and leases. Her extensive background in real estate gives her keen insight into the property issues that affect her divorce clients’ cases.
In her spare time, Eleanor enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, and is active in her community. Eleanor is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Maple Lawn Homeowners' Association, founded the Maple Lawn Women's Networking Group and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for The African Art Museum of Maryland.
Eleanor has been featured in the television show "Your Future Your Finances" with Brian Kuhn. Click on each of the following links to see how she shares her expertise regarding Estate & Family Planning.
